Stuttgart/Jandelsbrunn (Germany), January 2023. The new year may only be a few days old, but KNAUS already has several reasons to celebrate. The KNAUS TOURER CUV and Knaus AZUR, both invented here in Jandelsbrunn, won with aplomb in their respective categories in the European Innovation Award 2023. „This competition is one of the industry’s most prestigious‟, said Gerd Adamietzki, CEO of Knaus Tabbert AG: „We are delighted to receive both of these awards, continuing our long history of success as a leading innovator within the motorhome and caravanning industry.”

A revolutionary idea created from scratch to great acclaim, the compact Volkswagen T6.1‐based KNAUS TOURER CUV won the Concept category. It is the first motorhome to offer an elegant, compact and agile drive on the road comparable to that of an Urban Class model. It also offers a surprisingly luxurious amount of living space inside for up to four people, including a complete bathroom and headroom in excess of 1.90 metres. The fact the new KNAUS TOURER CUV can be both big and small without making any compromises is why it won the European Innovation Award.

The KNAUS AZUR won the Technology category in the European Innovation Award. This motorhome is manufactured using a revolutionary FibreFrame, which goes far beyond the capabilities of conventional construction methods. This self‐supporting structure designed from scratch emphasises Knaus’ aspiration to develop the most modern market‐ready solutions with the future in mind. A strong, lightweight plastic frame, which also impresses with its self‐healing surface, forms the basis for the KNAUS AZUR’s stable design statics.

For the thirteenth year in succession, the European Innovation Award 2023 honoured the most innovative products in the caravanning industry, spread over 17 categories. It is highly regarded as an international competition and is a coveted award for manufacturers and suppliers of motorhomes, camper vans, caravans or accessories. It was initiated and supported by established trade magazines and their editors‐in‐chief, testers and product experts as well as bloggers from 15 European countries. The European Innovation Award focuses on pioneering developments within an industry full of passion, skill and expertise that is dedicated to improving the quality of leisure time for millions of people.

The awards are normally handed out at the CMT trade fair in Stuttgart, the world’s largest trade fair for leisure and tourism open to the general public and Europe’s largest holiday trade fair. Initiator, patron and host of the European Innovation Award is Dolde Medien Verlag from Stuttgart, which publishes the Reisemobil International, Camping Cars & Caravans and Camper Vans titles.
