KNAUS BOXSTAR LIFETIME XL

For those who would like to take a trip with a motorhome or caravan during the picturesque time of year, Knaus Tabbert has the ideal vehicle: for example the KNAUS BOXSTAR LIFETIME XL or the TABBERT PUCCINI.

The golden month of October – a golden time for motorhome and caravan fans

Jandelsbrunn (Germany). Some people call it Indian Summer, others refer to it as the golden month of October: for those who would like to take a trip with a motorhome or caravan during this picturesque time of year, Knaus Tabbert has the ideal vehicle for any purpose – whether you are buying or renting.

RENT AND TRAVEL: on the way to Europe’s number one rental brand

RENT AND TRAVEL, the innovative rental brand from Knaus Tabbert, is particularly suitable for those who make last‐minute decisions. Rent, get in, enjoy – a holiday with a motorhome could not be any easier. What is best: just in time for the golden month of October, interested customers can rent not only the innovative motorhomes and CUVs (Caravanning Utility Vehicles) from Knaus Tabbert, but also the modern caravans from the traditional Bavarian company.

How does it work? The answer is simple: those who enjoy travelling can visit the website www.rentandtravel.de (with telephone service, upon request) and book their dream motorhome or caravan directly. Afterwards, they can pick their vehicle up at a nearby rental location. There are around 160 rental stations located throughout Germany featuring more than 1,900 KNAUS, TABBERT, T@B and WEINSBERG vehicles – and that number continues to grow as the number of visits and bookings to the website has grown dramatically over the past year. Rental stations are also located in Sweden and Italy, for example. Those who value personal information also receive perfect service: over 360 partner travel agencies will advise newcomers and veteran travellers on a wide range of topics, such as choosing the most suitable rental motorhome and route planning.

The online booking platform is designed for simple, intuitive operation. It is tailor‐made for new customers, experienced renters, or those interested in buying a motorhome or caravan at a later date. Spontaneous customers can even benefit from last‐minute offers online or in a travel agency. Knaus Tabbert has developed the unique RENT AND TRAVEL booking system for the perfect interaction between customers, rental stations and travel agencies, which other rental companies in the caravanning industry can also use as a brand‐independent licencing model.

Knaus Tabbert models make camping fun in winter, too

Anyone who owns or rents a Knaus Tabbert motorhome or caravan can look forward to both the golden month of October as well as winter in a relaxed manner. Because winter camping is very trendy – and, for example, it is no problem with a CUV from KNAUS or WEINSBERG. Thanks to cold bridge‐free insulation, heat‐insulating panes, a fresh‐water tank with warm air circulation, innovative heating technology, and frost‐free water pipes, the mobile units are absolutely winter proof. Their balanced weight distribution also ensures safe driving characteristics. This also applies to caravans such as the year‐round model WEINSBERG CaraOne [ICE] with XPS foam insulation and ALDE hot water and underfloor heating.

If you still prefer to mothball your motorhome or caravan in winter, you should consider the following ten tips:

  1. Ideally, place the motorhome or caravan in a hall or garage over winter, or at least underneath a carport. You can find providers of rental parking spaces online.
  2. Before mothballing your vehicle, wash and wax the motorhome or caravan. Do not forget to clean the roof and the underbody! Check for damage and repair if necessary. Treat window and door seals with special rubber‐care products.
  3. Increase the tyre pressure by approx. 0.5 bar to avoid standing flats. Placing tyre cradles underneath the wheels is even better. Also helpful: crank out the supports and thus relieve the load on the vehicle.
  4. Charge the batteries, disconnect them, remove them if necessary, and store them in a location protected by frost. So‐called float charging devices extend the service life.
  5. Clean the interior; make sure cupboards and upholstery are well ventilated and erected. If possible, move the window into the ventilation (open) position. Defrost the refrigerator and leave the door open.
  6. Empty fresh‐water and wastewater tanks and clean, if necessary; empty pipes, pumps and taps and leave the fresh‐water tank cap open for ventilation. Close and disconnect the gas cylinders.
  7. Install winter covers for heating system and refrigerator.
  8. Check full tanks and liquid levels, top up if necessary.
  9. Park the motorhome with the handbrake released and first gear engaged. If in doubt, place wedges underneath the tyres.
  10. Cover the motorhome or caravan with an air‐permeable tarpaulin. If necessary, install a dehumidifier in a humid environment.
