These are turbulent times to plan a fair of the magnitude of the Caravan Salon. The coronavirus pandemic has made organising events extremely difficult, both for us and for the people responsible on site. However, to ensure that the Caravan Salon can take place safely and successfully, Messe Düsseldorf has developed a comprehensive hygiene concept – with great success:
The Caravan Salon 2021 is a meticulously organised trade fair that manages to navigate large numbers of visitors safely through the exhibition area and on to us in Hall 1. The concept of the fair proved to be a success last year too – much to our delight and that of numerous other caravanning manufacturers for whom the Caravan Salon is an important highlight in their calendar. Many thanks at this point!
Let’s move on to our vehicles – and to our new products, of course! Eagerly awaited by KNAUS fans year after year, the Caravan Salon offers the first opportunity to marvel at all our new models and features up close. If you haven’t had the chance yet, we’ll take you on a little tour here:
Liner fans can expect not only the highest quality and numerous practical details, but also generous storage space and a total of 4 berths, divided between 2 single beds at the rear and a comfortable double fold‐down bed at the front.
There are plenty of KNAUS innovations for caravan enthusiasts to discover as well. The new SPORT and SÜDWIND bestseller models are particularly attracting a lot of attention: they are now even more striking and groundbreaking. The exterior is bound to impress with its new, striking front‐end hood in the KNAUS design, while the interior offers significantly more space thanks to the innovative FoldXpand rear construction.
But that is by no means all: with the new E.POWER Technologie SPORT and SÜDWIND offer a powerful alternative to classic gas operation. The numerous advantages of electric caravanning represent real added value for beginners and experienced seasonal campers alike, and offer an exciting glimpse into the future. While we are on the subject of the future: with the E.POWER DRIVE, Knaus Tabbert has presented an impressive study on the first electrically powered motorhome in the history of the company.
In cooperation with HWA AG, a leading and experienced development partner in motorsports and engineering with an outstanding international reputation, we have successfully equipped a motorhome with a powerful electric motor and a range extender. This is a first, important step towards an improved environmental footprint for motorhome travellers – and an impressive study that has inspired the press and visitors alike!
A fully integrated vehicle that is nevertheless fully compact? The new VAN I achieves this feat and impresses with its new, striking KNAUS design and automotive dynamics. Thanks to the innovative FoldXpand rear construction, the interior offers even more living space with unchanged external dimensions and a modern, light‐flooded design.
Two ultra‐compact layouts with a vehicle width of just 2.2 metres offer space for up to 4 people thanks to the standard front beds. Our most compact and fully integrated motorhome is a real all‐rounder!
The new BOXDRIVE focuses on uncompromising CUV quality and maximum driving dynamics. The MAN TGE is just the right base vehicle for this, offering driving pleasure and a comprehensive safety package.
To ensure that the BOXDRIVE also proves its worth in camping practice, you can choose between two layouts. While the 680 ME with lengthwise beds in the rear is ideal for 2 people, the 600 XL is the perfect choice for families as it boasts a bed in the XL raised roof in addition to the crosswise bed in the rear. Both layouts will delight you with their modern design and highly functional interior, offering a choice between a fixed bathroom with a swivel wall or a vario bathroom. In addition, the rear beds are optionally available as drop‐down beds for even greater flexibility. No compromises – that is precisely the motto of the new BOXDRIVE!

Dog lovers should take a close look at what the Lucky Dog Camper has to offer. Tailored specifically to KNAUS motorhomes, the Lucky Dog Camper has developed a safe means of transport and a dedicated space for dogs in motorhomes. A secure built‐in system with a stable and spacious dog box is available on request for selected vehicles with single‐bed layouts.
Glasses clanking and falling about when camping – thanks to the smart magnetic solutions from silwy® MAGNETIC SYSTEM, this problem is a thing of the past! A stylish magnet perfectly integrated into every silwy glass will always find the right metallic counterpole with us, for instance in metal nano‐gel pads.
