04.06.2012 // Clear turnover increase for Knaus Tabbert in the second consecutive year -
Focus on product portfolio completion an on innovative products • Turnover increased by 32 percent to Euro 238.6 million • Sales target exceeded with almost 12,800 produced units • Market leader for new motorhome registrations in Germany • Total market in Europe still tight
Jandelsbrunn, 4 June 2012 - For the second consecutive year Knaus Tabbert GmbH, a leading manufacturer of caravans and motorhomes in Europe, clearly increased its turnover figures. Despite a still moderate growth of the total market for recreational vehicles in Europe the group with Euro 238.6 million exceeded its original turnover target for business year 2011 and with about 12,800 produced vehicles also increased its sales figure by almost 20 percent compared to the previous year. The decisive success factor primarily was the positive reception of the new-developed Knaus brand motorhome fleet with the Sky TI, Sun TI and Sky i. Apart from product portfolio completion the focus in business year 2011 primarily also was on strategic measures that were manifested with the acquisition of the BavariaCamp premium brand for camper vans and the strategic alliance with Morelo, a manufacturer of luxury motorhomes. "There has been a trend towards motorhomes for quite some time. This development, together with our high level of innovation activity, our numerous new developments, and the resulting extension of our product portfolio, all have acted in our favour", said Giovanni Marcon, CEO of Knaus Tabbert GmbH. The general economic conditions and the total market in Europe, however, still remain tight.
In business year 2011 the caravan and motorhome manufacturer with plants in Jandelsbrunn, Mottgers, Obermeitingen, and Nagyoroszi (Hungary) reached an after-tax profit of Euro 4.38 million. The turnover in the last business year amounted to Euro 238.6 million (previous year Euro 181.6 million). These results were achieved in spite of extraordinarily high product development investments of almost Euro 10 million. With approximately 12,800 units the number of produced vehicles exceeded the sales expectations for 2011. The profit is directly reinvested in the company. Also in the third year following its restart Knaus Tabbert continues to stand on a solid economic base and has an economic equity ratio of 37 percent.
Because of the positive development in the previous years, especially also in the last business year 2011, and the resulting stabilisation of the financial situation, Knaus Tabbert GmbH will reorganise its financing structure in the current year 2012 to be optimally positioned for continued growth also in the future.
Knaus Tabbert GmbH at present has about 1,280 employees at its four plants, of these 660 are working in Jandelsbrunn and 300 in Mottgers.
